Job Title: Feed Mill Production Manager

Job Summary: The Feed Mill Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the feed mill, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and managing staff. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and sustainability in feed manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Management:
    • Oversee daily feed production operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
    • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands.
    • Monitor production processes and adjust as necessary to optimize output.
  2. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all feed products meet regulatory standards and company specifications.
    • Implement and maintain quality control measures throughout the production process.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production facilities.
  3. Staff Management:
    • Supervise and train production staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated team.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and development opportunities.
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and safety.
  4. Inventory and Supply Chain:
    • Manage raw material inventory to ensure adequate supply for production needs.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of ingredients.
    • Monitor and control production costs and waste.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety training and drills for all production staff.
    • Address and resolve any safety or compliance issues promptly.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to optimize production processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in feed manufacturing or a similar role (3-5 years preferred).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards in feed production (e.g., FDA, EU, GSO, FAO and PSI).
  • Proficient in using production management software and data analysis tools.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to machinery and production processes.
  • May require occasional overtime or weekend work during peak production times.
