Feed Mill Accountant

Job Overview:

The Feed Mill Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records and transactions related to the feed mill operations. This role involves maintaining accurate financial statements, monitoring budgetary compliance, and providing insights to support management decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and experience in the agricultural or manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for feed mill operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Reconcile raw material quantities with suppliers and resolve discrepancies 
  • Collaborate with the production team to track costs and optimize profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation.
  • Provide financial support and insights to management as needed.
  • Manage payroll for feed mill employees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in accounting, preferably in agriculture or manufacturing
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and practices is a plus
