HR Officer

Job Summary:

The HR Officer will be responsible for managing human resources functions within the feed mill, ensuring compliance with labor laws, fostering a positive work environment, and supporting employee development initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of HR best practices in a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Staffing:
    • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
    • Screen applications, conduct interviews, and coordinate hiring processes.
    • Oversee onboarding processes for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition.
  2. Employee Relations:
    • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances.
    • Mediate conflicts and facilitate resolutions to promote a positive work culture.
    • Implement employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
  3. Training and Development:
    • Identify training needs and coordinate development programs.
    • Organize orientation sessions for new hires and ongoing training for current staff.
    • Monitor employee performance and assist with performance reviews.
  4. Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and safety regulations.
    • Conduct safety training sessions and maintain safety records.
    • Assist in the development of health and safety policies.
  5. Compensation and Benefits:
    • Assist in payroll processing and benefits administration.
    • Conduct market research to ensure competitive salary and benefit offerings.
    • Support employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries.
  6. Policy Development:
    • Develop and update HR policies and procedures.
    • Communicate policy changes and ensure understanding among employees.
    • Maintain employee handbooks and documentation.
  7. Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
    • Prepare reports on HR metrics, such as turnover rates and training effectiveness.
    • Ensure confidentiality and security of employee information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or agricultural setting.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
